Jim Corbett National Park enjoys the privilege of being the oldest and the most prestigious national Park of India. It is the place of birth of Project Tiger. Corbett National Park is famous for its abundance of tigers. The park is divided into five tourist zones to let tourists enjoy their surroundings to the fullest.
Wildlife Safari is a must to closely observe the flora and fauna closely in their natural habitats. Corbett National park offers many types of safaris like jeep safari, gypsy safari, elephant safari and canter safari.
If you want to increase your chances of spotting a Royal Bengal tiger during your Safari, visiting Dhikala tourist zone of the Park and book a ride through Jim Corbett Hotels as the best option. Dhikala is the habitat of the largest number of tigers in the Park. Day visits to Dhikala Zone are restricted to Canter Safaris only.
Canter Safari is organized by the Corbett Tiger Reserve Authority. Enjoy the ultimate experience of safari in the zone with the highest concentration of exotic animals. One Canter Safari seats 16 passengers at a time. Expert Naturalists and Forest Gunman accompany travelers in each Canter. Only two canter safaris are allowed to go inside the Dhikala Zone simultaneously.
The Canter Safaris are organized in two shifts- morning and evening. Each one is a 5-hour long ride. The timings for Summer and Winter vary slightly.
Morning: From 05:30 AM – 11:30 AM
Evening: From 12:30 PM – 06:30 PM
Morning: From 06:00 AM – 12: 00 PM
Evening: From 12:00 PM – 05:30 PM
For Indian tourists who wish to ride Canter Safaris, booking must be done 30 days in advance and for Foreign tourists, it has to be done 90 days prior to the tour.
Personal information like name, age, sex and photo identity prof is required to confirm the booking. In addition to that, a confirmation amount also needs to be paid in advance.
